If you happened to be anywhere near the Sacred Heart Catholic Church between 2 and 4:30 pm today the Police and/or Fire Department may need to speak to you.
It appears that this is the time frame that some person or persons went into the church and tried to set the altar on fire. Fortunately the fire burned itself out before authorities were notified.
This incident is being investigated as a possible "Hate Crime" and evidence is being gathered. The State Fire Marshal is on the scene and I believe that WMUR is sending someone out. You will probably see this on the news and in the newspapers later.
In my opinion this crime is despicable, SO PLEASE let the authorities know if you were in the area and possibly saw some individual(s) entering, exiting or just hanging around the church.
This type of stupidity has to be stopped and those responsible need to know our outrage that this could happen.
